On May 29, 2013, Alfa Laval acquired Niagara Blower and Kathabar – expanding its heat transfer portfolio and building a leadership position with wet surface air cooler and dehumidification technologies in North America. The Niagara Blower and Kathabar product ranges are currently being fully integrated into Alfa Laval. Founded in 1904, Niagara Blower Company began as a manufacturer of high quality industrial air conditioning and heating equipment. Since that time Niagara Blower has transitioned into other heat transfer ventures and has earned a reputation for developing innovative, engineered solutions for heat transfer applications.
The Wet Surface Air Cooled (WSAC) heat exchanger products are optimized for industrial applications where rugged design/fabrication and cost effective, efficient, closed-loop cooling/condensing are required. WSAC heat exchangers have clear advantages in many applications involving liquid cooling or vapor condensing.
WSACs have been successfully utilized in industries such as:
- Chemical/Petrochemical Processing
- Pulp & Paper
Niagara Blower’s ‘No-Frost’ system handles the refrigeration and moisture management needs of industries from food processing to pharmaceuticals. Typical applications include:
- Frost Prevention for food processing and storage
- Mold, Bacteria & Fungus Prevention
- Condensation Prevention
- Regain Prevention
- Moisture Prevention
- Corrosion Prevention
- Air Pollution Control for Dry Cooling
